UAAP VOLLEYBALL: UST libero Rivera suffers knee injury

University of Sto. Tomas libero Rica Rivera was carried off the court after sustaining a right knee injury.
University of Sto. Tomas libero Rica Rivera sustained a meniscus tear on her right knee according to initial medical assessment.
The Tigress was carried off the court Sunday after she went down with a knee injury following her dig on Ateneo de Manila University hitter Kat Tolentino’s attack early in the first set of their match in the 80th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Rivera, who had an ACL injury before, was trying to get back on her feet following a dig when her right knee buckled. She was carried back in their dugout by assistant coach Mark Gil Alfafara.
A UST official told reporters that there was a ‘tear’ on her injured knee.
Rivera, who is still at their dugout as of posting time, will be brought to UST Hospital.
