UAAP VOLLEYBALL: FEU out to solidify hold of the solo lead

Far Eastern University puts its unbeaten slate on the line against a slumping University of the Philippines side.
Streaking Far Eastern University hopes to keep its hot winning roll going in a clash with University of the Philippines Saturday in the 80th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The Tamaraws, who occupy the solo lead with a 3-0 win-loss record, are looking to add the Fighting Maroons in their list of victims in their 10:00 a.m. duel.
The match will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA on SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD on SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.
FEU is coming off a 25-22, 15-25, 30-28, 25-22, win over De La Salle University last Wednesday behind the efforts of John Paul Bugaoan, Jude Garcia, Richard Solis and national team member Peter Quiel.
The Tams will take on a Maroons side that is on a two-game slide.
After sweeping University of the East, UP dropped its next couple of games against De La Salle University and Adamson University to slide to a three-way tie with its tormentors.
Meanwhile, three-time defending champion Ateneo de Manila University face the winless Red Warriors at 8:00 a.m.
The Blue Eagles, who are on a back-to-back win run after suffering a straight sets loss to FEU in the season-opener, are tied at second to fourth spot with National University and University of Sto. Tomas with 2-1 slates.
UE remains at the cellar, losing all of its first three outings.
