Ateneo seeks third straight win, Adamson wants to rebound
Ateneo de Manila University targets to win its third straight against Adamson University.

In form Ateneo de Manila University hopes to keep its hot streak going as the Lady Eagles face an Adamson University side looking to bounce back from a previous setback Wednesday in the 80th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Opening serve is at 2:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA on SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD on SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.

After dropping their first two games, the Lady Eagles rediscovered their winning ways as they collected consecutive wins to tie University of Sto. Tomas and Far Eastern University at 2-2 win-loss slate.

Ateneo turned back University of the East, 21-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-14, Saturday.

But skipper Maddie Madayag is aware that they can’t make the same mistakes they committed against the Lady Warriors when they take on a loaded Lady Falcons team. The Katipunan-based squad gave away 33 points off errors against UE.

“Definitely less errors. Halos yung errors lang namin yung nakakapagbigay ng puntos sa UE,” said Madayag. “And more confidence lang. We need more confidence din lalo na bago yung setter namin, bagon yung libero. Parang kailangan more motivation pa.”

Adamson saw its two-game winning streak snapped after absorbing a 9-25, 29-31, 19-25, beating at the hands of the Tigresses last Sunday.

Lady Falcons head coach Air Padda braces for another tough battle.

“They're another strong team,” she said. “I feel like we can compete with the rest of the league. It's just a matter of being consistently confident.”
