UAAP Season 80 Men’s Football: UP targets solo first place
The UP Maroons try to take control of solo first place when they take on the NU Bulldogs.

MATCHES on THURSDAY (Rizal Memorial Football Stadium)

9:00 AM - UE vs. DLSU (Men’s)

2:00 PM - Adamson vs. FEU (Men’s)

4:00 PM - NU vs. UP (Men’s)

University of the Philippines will get a chance to seize solo first place when they take on National University in UAAP Season 80 Men’s Football action, Thursday afternoon at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.

Winners of their first three outings, the Fighting Maroons remain unbeaten in Season 80, but did drop their first points of the season last Sunday after being held to a 0-0 draw by Far Eastern University. More than just bouncing back, a win on Thursday will send the Season 78 champions to solo top seed.

Following a rough start, the Bulldogs have finally gathered a bit of momentum. After earning their first points of the season with a draw against UST, NU scored their first win of the season against a struggling Adamson squad, and will look to do the same against an unbeaten UP team.

NU and UP kick off at 4:00 PM.

Also looking to feed off some momentum are the FEU Tamaraws, who have yet to score a win in Season 80. They’ll try to change that however when the meet the Adamson Falcons.

After back-to-back losses in their first two matches, the Season 79 runners-up Tams have gotten on the board, holding University of the East and UP to back-to-back draws for two points this season. Injury-depleted but always dangerous, the Tams try to get win number one at the expense of Adamson.

Still trying to get on the board this season, the Soaring Falcons have lost all four of their matches so far, but will try to take advantage of an under-manned FEU side to get their first win of the season.

FEU and Adamson kick off at 2:00 PM.

In the first match of the day, the De La Salle Green Archers look to bounce back against the surprising UE Red Warriors.

Coming off a 2-1 loss to rivals Ateneo de Manila, the Green Archers, who won their first two matches to kick off Season 80, look to get back on track.

Standing in their way however, will be the young and hungry Red Warriors, who under the tutelage of Fitch Arboleda, have gotten off to a decent start in Season 80, with a win, a draw, and a loss. Like the Green Archers, UE is also looking to get back in the win column.

UE and DLSU kick off at 9:00 AM.
