UAAP VOLLEYBALL: DLSU snaps skid

De La Salle University arrested a two-game slide with a four-set win over struggling University of the East.
De La Salle University dodged an upset ax after dropping winless University of the East, 25-14, 25-20, 19-25, 25-21, Wednesday in the 80th UAAP men's volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Raymark Woo powered the Green Spikers with 24 points highlighted by 21 attacks while Arjay Onia had 19 markers as DLSU improved its record to 2-3 at solo fifth spot.
The Taft-based squad repelled the Red Warriors' attempt to put the match into sudden death after rallying back from an 18-20 deficit in the fourth with a 7-1 closing blitz to get back on the winning track after dropping its last two matches.
Chris Dumago added 11 points while Wayne Marco tallied 46 excellent sets that helped DLSU fire 53 attack points.
UE remained winless in five outings.
Skipper Geric Ortega and Clifford Inoferio had 14 points each while Angelu Noel Alba had 12 markers for the Red Warriors, who were punished with 17 kill blocks by DLSU's solid net defense.
