The UST Growling Tigers look to remain unbeaten in UAAP Season 80 Men's Football action
MATCHES on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 25 (FEU DILIMAN)
9:00 AM - Ateneo vs. UE (Men’s)
1:00 PM - UST vs. DLSU (Men’s)
3:00 PM - FEU vs. NU (Men’s)
University of Santo Tomas looks to keep their unbeaten record alive when the go up against De La Salle University in UAAP Season 80 Men’s Football action, Sunday at the FEU Diliman Football Field.
Yet to taste defeat in their first four matches, the surging Growling Tigers are coming off a massive victory over defending champions Ateneo, thanks to a late goal from the returning Steven Anotado. Enjoying their best start in a while, the Espanya-based side will try to keep their momentum going when they take on the Green Archers.
After bouncing back in a high-scoring affair against UE, the Green Archers try to get another win streak going. Currently holding a three win-one loss record in four matches, DLSU look to keep rolling as the first round of action nears the end.
UST and DLSU kick off at 1:00 PM
In the first game of the day, defending champions Ateneo look to get back on track once again when they take on UE.
For the second time in five matches, the Blue Eagles find themselves trying to bounce back after suffering their second loss of the season a week ago against UST. Currently sitting at two wins and two losses, the Katipunan-based side already has twice as many losses as they did all of last season, and are looking to avoid loss number three
Also looking to bounce back after a close loss to DLSU last Thursday are the Red Warriors, who have shown vast improvement in the early goings of Season 80. In their first four matches so far, the Red Warriors have managed to beat NU and hold FEU to a draw. Sunday, they try to score their biggest win of the season so far.
Ateneo and UE kick off at 9:00 AM
In the third game of the day, Far Eastern University looks to get their second win of the season on their home pitch against National University.
The Tamaraws finally scored their first win of the season last Thursday, and it came in devastating fashion as they demolished Adamson, 7-0, behind a hat trick from striker Rico Andes. After a rough start, the Season 79 runners-up have finally gotten on track and are looking to stay on track for the rest of the season.
The Bulldogs on the other hand, are trying to bounce back after falling to league-leading UP also last Thursday. Prior to the loss to UP, it looked as if NU had already found their stride, holding UST to a scoreless draw and then taking down Adamson for their first win of the year.
