UAAP VOLLEYBALL: DLSU braces for war against Adamson
Defending champion De La Salle University faces dark horse team Adamson University.

Two-time defending champion De La Salle University tests the mettle of Adamson University Saturday in the 80th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

After bouncing back mightily following their first loss of the season at the hands of unbeaten National University, the Lady Spikers try to spark another winning run at 4:00 p.m.

The match that will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA on SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD on SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.

DLSU sports a 4-1 win-loss record and are fresh from a 25-18, 25-17, 25-20, rout of University of the East last Wednesday to get back on the winning track following a five-set loss to the Lady Bulldogs a week ago.

The Lady Falcons are coming off back-to-back losses but Lady Spikers coach Ramil De Jesus is wary of Adamson’s threat.

“Well, 'yung Adamson kasi, may mga times na pagka dumating at nakuha nila ang kumpyansa sa loob ng court, hindi mo pwedeng babasta-bastahin lang,” he said. “Pag ito confident na at nakuha nila 'yung sinasabi kong momentum, mahirap biruin kasi alam natin na kumpleto 'yung tao. And then maganda rin ang connection nila sa isa't isa, saka beterano rin kasi 'yung setter.”

Adamson is at sixth spot with a 2-3 slate.

The Lady Falcons dropped a sorry 18-25, 25-14, 18-25, 25-15, 10-15 defeat at the hands of Ateneo de Manila University last Wednesday.
