Ateneo wants fourth straight win, UP hopes to end skid
Atene de Manila University seeks to continue its winning run.

Ateneo de Manila University takes on struggling University of the Philippines with hopes of extending its winning run in the 80th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Lady Eagles and Lady Maroons march into center court at 2:00 p.m. The match will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA on SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD on SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.

After losing two straight to start the season, Ateneo is on a roll after winning three in a row in a two-way tie with Far Eastern University in the standings.

Ateneo is coming off a thrilling 25-18, 14-25, 25-18, 15-25, 15-10, escape over Adamson University last Wednesday.

The Lady Eagles, who hope to use this match as preparation for their marquee match against archrival defending champion De La Salle University next week, will face a UP side looking to snap a three-game slide.

After a five-set win over University of the East in their season opener, the Lady Maroons dropped their next assignments.

UP was swept by FEU, 23-25, 12-25, 19-25, eight days ago that pulled the Lady Maroons at seventh place with a 1-3 mark.
