With title within reach, still no time to celebrate for Bullpups

NU is one win away from a championship that didnít even seem likely just a week ago
Nazareth School of National University just did what no other team had done in the UAAP 80 Juniors Basketball Tournament.
With their backs against the wall, the Bullpups pulled off an upset of formerly undefeated Ateneo on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
Because of that, the Blue Eaglets’ record now has one mark on the loss column courtesy of NU.
More than that, what was once a more than probable historic season sweep for Ateneo is now a question mark as the two teams will figure in a winner-take-all Game 3 on Friday.
That is exactly why, though they have just scored their biggest win of the season, the Bullpups still have their sights set on the ultimate prize: an impropable championship. “We feel good po, pero hindi pa po tapos e, may isa pang game. No time to celebrate kami,” Migs Oczon said.
Indeed, just to get another close win, they will have to execute the very same game plan that led to a 26-13 advantage in offensive rebounds and a 13-4 edge in second chance points – with those proving to be the difference between the two team.
Good thing then that by dealing the Blue Eaglets their first defeat, both momentum and confidence are in favor of NU. “Definitely, meron (kaming advantage). Yung sinasabi ko ngang belief na kaya namin, yun yung importante doon,” head coach Goldwin Monteverde said.
He then continued, “Hopefully sa next game, yung belief na yun will stick with us.”
