UAAP Season 80 Men's Football: Reigning MVP Gayoso leads league in scoring after Round 1

Jarvey Gayoso is putting together another MVP-calibre season so far.
Reigning UAAP Men’s Football Most Valuable Player Jarvey Gayoso of Ateneo de Manila is putting together another stellar season as he leads the league in scoring after the first round of the UAAP Season 80 Men’s Football tournament.
The third-year striker has found the back of the net seven times in the first round, including three matches with two goals each.
Gayoso’s scoring superiority has helped push the defending champion Blue Eagles into second place with five wins after the first round of action.
League-leading University of the Philippines on the other hand, has been anchored by the strong offensive output of third-year players King Miyagi and JB Borlongan.
Miyagi and Borlongan have knocked in six goals apiece to lead the Maroons to an unbeaten first round with five wins and two draws.

Over on the women’s side of things, the tandem of Shela May Cadag and Charisa Lemoran has propelled the University of Santo Tomas Lady Tigresses to a league-best 13 points.
Cadag and Lemoran have recorded four goals each to help UST to four victories in six matches.
Meanwhile, Jovelle Sudaria has also left her mark on the record books, scoring thrice to help Far Eastern University to two wins and three draws in six matches, good for third place so far in the season.
