After starting the UAAP season 80 women's volleyball tournament at 0-6, the University of ther East Lady Warriors have now won back-to-back matches.

With the Lady Warriors on the rise, it's time to get familiarize ourselves with their defensive anchor, a 5'2" libero by the name of Kath Arado.

The third year player out of Iligan City National High School, has been the driving force behind the Lady Warriors' resurgence, and in a sport where taller spikers often reign, she has made a name for herself with her solid floor defense and no-nonsense work on the less glamorous end of the floor.

1. Her full name is Kathleen Faith Arado

Born to father Arniel and mother Geraldin, Kathleen Faith has been slowly but surely introducing herself for the past few years.

2. Her birthday is on May 22, 1998

She will turn 20 years old in a couple of months!

3. She hails from Iligan City

Arado is a long way from home, but she's definitely bringing pride to her hometown of Iligan City with her stellar play for the Recto-based squad, and beyond.

4. She started playing volleyball at age 10

Her feel for the game is definitely fit for a player who has been playing the sport for more than half of her life.

5. She was the co-rookie of the year for season 77

Alongside former UST hitter EJ Laure, Kath won the coveted rookie of the year award back in UAAP season 77. Back in 2015, her award was one of the rare highlights from the Lady Warriors' 0-14 season. Arado was also the first libero to win the top rookie citation since DLSU's defensive specialist Melissa Gohing copped it back in Season 71.

6. Her Twitter handle is on-point

Arado's @YungPusa username on Twitter is pretty apt for the diminutive volleybelle, as she definitely has the quick reaction, feistiness, and mobility of a feline.

7. Her favorite volleyball players are Jen Reyes and Arisa Sato

Arado's two favorite volleybelles are some of the best the sport has to offer in her position. Jen Reyes is a multititled floor defender while Arisa Sato is Japan's most prized liberos.

8. Her celebrity crush is Daniel Padilla

Apparently, Arado is a fan of the Teen King!

9. She collects Naruto memoriabilia

Another fitting thing abour Arado is that she's a fan, and avid collector of "Naruto stuff". An anime about overcoming odds, stronger opponents, and, of course, ninjas.

10. Her ultimate dream is to be part of the national team

While she already represented the Under-19 Philippine Women's Volleyball Team in the 19th Princess Cup Southeast Asian Women’s U-19 Championship in Sisaket, Thailand, even taking home the Best Libero award, she dreams of wearing the Filipino tricolors in a major international tournament.

With her name getting more buzz, and her skills improving by the day, don't be surprised to see her dreams come true right before our very eyes.
