Can Ateneo score four straight wins?
MATCHES on THURSDAY, MARCH 8 (Rizal Memorial Football Stadium)

2:00 PM – UE vs FEU (Men)
4:00 PM – Ateneo vs NU (Men)
Defending champions Ateneo de Manila University try to push their winning streak to four straight as the kick off the second round of the UAAP Season 80 men’s football tournament against National University on Thursday at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
After coming off a gritty 4-3 win over last season’s runners-up Far Eastern University last Sunday, the Blue Eagles are looking to stay on course as they shoot for their sixth win of the season.
Behind the efforts of league-leading goal scorer and reigning MVP Jarvey Gayoso, Ateneo enters Round 2 in the second seed as they continue their bid for back-to-back men’s football championships.
Also looking to keep a winning streak going at the Bulldogs, who ended the first round with back-to-back victories.
Currently sitting at fourth place, the Bulldogs try to create even more separation from the bottom half of the standings, and an upset over Ateneo could be a good start.
In their first round encounter, Ateneo defeated NU, 3-1.
Ateneo and NU kick off at 4:00 PM.
Speaking of winning streaks, surprising University of the East are also heading into Round 2 with back-to-back wins, and they look to make it three straight when they take on the struggling FEU Tamaraws.
Looking like a much better team than from years past, the Red Warriors have strung together three wins in the first round, and find themselves tied with NU on points. Carrying head coach Fitch Arboleda’s ‘enjoy football’ mentality to every match, the Red Warriors could find themselves cracking the final four, but first, they’ll need to take down FEU.
Coming off a heartbreaking, yet promising loss to defending champions Ateneo at the end of round one, the Tamaraws come into round two hungry and motivated. While injuries have taken it’s toll on the former champions, their win over Adamson and performance against Ateneo show just how dangerous the Tams can still be.
UE and FEU fought to a scoreless draw in their first round matchup.
UE and FEU kick off at 2:00 PM.
Much like FEU, the De La Salle Green Archers are looking to get back on track, and they try to do it against cellar-dwellers Adamson University.
After a 2-0 start, it seemed as though DLSU had finally shaken off the bad juju that kept them from making the final four a season ago. Towards the end of Round 1 however, the Taft-based side found themselves on a three-game slide, including losses to UST, UP, and NU. They look to snap the losing streak against Adamson.
Also looking to snap a round-long losing streak are the Soaring Falcons, who have yet to put up any points this season. In their first seven matches, Adamson has fallen seven times, but they managed to show some promise against Ateneo. Even in a 2-0 loss, the Falcons showed off just how good they can be, pushing the defending champions to the limit.
DLSU blasted Adamson 2-0 in the first round.
DLSU and Adamson kick off at 8:00 AM.
