UAAP VOLLEYBALL: NU shoots for a repeat, FEU wants revenge

National University top hitter Bryan Bagunas will try to rally the Bulldogs to a repeat win over first round victim Far Eastern University.
National University and Far Eastern University face off Saturday in an early second round elimination rematch in the 80th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Both sporting 6-1 win-loss records, the survivor of the 10:00 a.m. match that will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA on SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD on SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream will move up to a share of the lead with idle three-time defending champion Ateneo de Manila University.
The Bulldogs closed the opening round with a five-game winning streak capped by a 25-22, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23, victory over University of the Philippines last Sunday.
NU handed the erstwhile unbeaten Tamaraws their first defeat, 22-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-17, last February 28.
FEU wants to avenge that loss and start a new winning streak after ending the first round with a 27-25, 22-25, 25-23, 36-34, conquest of University of Sto. Tomas.
Meanwhile, first round cellar-dwellers Adamson University and winless University of the East cross paths at 8:00 a.m.
The Falcons are at seventh spot with a 2-5 slate while the Red Warriors dropped all of their seven games in the opening round.
Adamson submitted UE, 25-16, 25-18, 25-12, last week.
