National University makes a return trip to the semifinals.
National University booked its sixth straight Final Four appearance after taking down De La Salle University, 26-24, 19-25, 25-20, 28-26, Sunday in the 80th UAAP men's volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Bryan Bagunas waxed-hot as he unleashed 15 kills, two aces and a kill block for 18 points as the Bulldogs collected their eighth straight victory and solidified their hold of the solo lead with a 9-1 win-loss record.
Kim Malabunga and James Natividad had 14 markers each while Fauzi Ismail and Francis Saura added 13 and 11 markers, respectively, for NU.
The Bulldogs played solid net defense with 15 kill blocks with Natividad leading the way with five while Saura got three. Kim Dayandante tallied 47 excellent sets.
NU uncorked 55 attack kills but gave away 36 points off errors.
The Green Spikers dropped to 3-6 slate in a three-way logjam at fifth to seventh place with University of the Philippines and University of Sto. Tomas, which is playing University of the East as of posting time.
Raymark Woo and Arjay Onia had 16 points each for DLSU while Cris Dumago had 14.
