De La Salle University has finally landed a high school standout.
The Green Archers have secured the services of Joaqui Manuel, the six-foot-three wing who had just helped Ateneo de Manila High School win its first championship in three years.
The younger brother of Ginebra player Jett averaged 9.6 points and 9.1 rebounds in his second and last season in blue and white.
Now, Manuel will be bolstering a wing rotation for DLSU that includes Gabe Capacio and Mark Dyke.
He is the Taft-based team’s first recruit from the graduating high school class.
The 18-year-old will also help make up for the absence of supposed-to-be incoming third-year players Brent Paraiso and Ricci Rivero.
