Ateneo, FEU look to boost Final Four twice-to-beat bids
Far Eastern University seeks its third straight win and a chance to move closer to clinching a Final Four twice-to-beat advantage.

Semifinals-bound Far Eastern University and three-time defending champion Ateneo de Manila University take on separate foes with the same mission of boosting their Final Four twice-to-beat advantage hopes in the 80th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Tamaraws march at center court at 8:00 a.m. against winless University of the East while the Blue Eagles face University of the Philippines at 10:00 a.m.

The first match will air live on LIGA on SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD on SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream. The second match will air live also on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23 and S+A HD Channel 167.

League-leading National University (9-1), Ateneo and FEU, who are tied a second to third spots with 8-2 slates, occupied the first three Final Four seats.

The Tams are on a two-game winning streak with the Fighting Maroons as their last victim, 25-22, 25-20, 25-21, last Wednesday and are heavily favored against the Red Warriors, who are winless in 10 games.

Ateneo, on the other hand, is out to avenge a 27-25, 23-25, 20-25, 25-21, 14-16, loss to FEU last week.

UP is fighting for dear life with a 3-7 slate at seventh spot, another loss will put the Diliman-based squad on the brink of an early vacation.
