Far Eastern University cruised past University of the East for its third straight win.
Far Eastern University captured its third straight win and strengthened its Final Four twice-to-beat advantage after sweeping winless University of the East, 25-19, 25-12, 29-27, Saturday in the 80th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Redijohn Paler and Peter Quiel led the way with 13 and 10 points, respectively, as the Tamaraws improved to 9-2 win-loss record at second spot just half a game behind league-leading National University (9-1).
John Paul Bugaoan scored eight markes while Kevin Hadlocon got seven for FEU, which still has Adamson University, University of Sto. Tomas and De La Salle University in its list of elims assignments.
Owen Suares tallied 26 excellent sets for the Tams, who scored 44 attack points.
The Red Warriors remained winless in 11 outings despite the double-digit efforts of Clifford Inoferio and Geric Ortega.
Inoferio hacked 15 kills for 16 points while Ortega had 13 markers for UE.
