Emotions poured when National University’s Audrey Paran’s attack smacked right into University of Sto. Tomas’ defensive wall before bouncing off their court.
Right at the moment, the Lady Bulldogs just couldn’t bottle up their frustration and pain.
Four straight games, four losses in a row.
NU absorbed a 25-22, 23-25, 21-25, 9-25, defeat Sunday in the 80th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the Big Dome.
After the final whistle, the Lady Bulldogs bowed their heads, some finding comfort by hugging their comrades. Others down on the floor thinking what went wrong.
Graduating player 6-foot-5 Jaja Santiago with all her effort to score 27 points was seen crying, frustrated, broken.
The ghost of Season 79 was back to haunt them.
It was on the same venue, against the same team that NU failed to advance in the semis last year.
Siguro ganun. Na-feel ulit namin yung sakit na na-feel namin last year,” she added.
NU remained in contention for a Final Four spot with a 6-5 win-loss record but with their string of misfortunes, the Lady Bulldogs chances is slowly looking bleak.
Parang may chance pa talaga,” said Nabor.
The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action against University of the Philippines on April 4 followed by a showdown with University of the East on April 8 before winding up the elims against Far Eastern University on April 15.
