DLSU hunts for at least a semis twice-to-beat playoff
Two-time defending champion De La Salle University shoots for at least a playoff for a Final Four twice-to-beat advantage.

Grand slam-seeking De La Salle University seeks to secure at least a playoff for a Final Four twice-to-beat advantage in a duel with desperate University of Sto. Tomas Sunday in the 80th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The match is set at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA on SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD on SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.

The Lady Spikers are riding the crest of their five-game winning run for a 9-2 win-loss record.

DLSU defeated University of the Easy in straight sets before the Holy Week break.

But the Lady Spikers are expected to face a tough resistance from the Tigresses, who hold a 4-8 card with still an outside chance of making it into the Final Four.

UST, which dropped a five-set match over DLSU in the first round, must win all of its remaining games and hope that National University (6-6) and Adamson University (5-7) won’t reach seven wins to force a playoff.

The Espana-based squad is coming off a sorry five-set loss to semis-bound Ateneo de Manila University last Wednesday.
