Far Eastern University solidified its bid for a Final Four twice-to-beat advantage after notching its 10th win in the 80th UAAP men's volleyball tournament.
The Tamaraws spoiled Adamson University's attempt to inch closer to clinching the last semis ticket with a 25-23, 25-21, 21-25, 25-20 win Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
JP Bugaoan led the way for the Morayta-based squad with 22 points off 18 attacks and four kill blocks.
The Tams tied three-time defending champion Ateneo de Manila University at second to third spot with 10-2 win-loss record behind solo leader National University.
Jude Garcia had 18 points while Richard Solis added 15 markers for FEU.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs took the solo lead with an easy 25-16, 25-23, 25-13, victory over listless University of the East.
Semis-bound NU climbed to to an 11-2 card heading into its marquee match against bitter rival Blue Eagles on April 15.
The Red Warriors are winless in 12 games.
The Falcons fell to 6-7 card and are now in a must-win situation against University of Sto. Tomas (5-7) on Saturday in their last elims assignment to secure at least a playoff for the last Final Four berth.
George Labang posted 31 markers on 18 kills, two kill blocks and an ace while Paolo Pablico and Leo Miranda added 16 and 11 markers, respectively, for Adamson.
