NU keeper Chris Perocho had an excellent defensive outing to help lead the Bulldogs past the FEU Tamaraws, Sunday morning.
National University managed to keep themselves in the playoff hunt, Sunday morning, after edging out Far Eastern University, 2-1, at the FEU Diliman Football Field.
While it was Owen Padernal that scored late in the second half to create some separation, goalkeeper Chris Perocho was equally instrumental to the Bulldogs’ crucial win.
The senior keeper came up with save after save, keeping FEU scoreless despite having control of the match.
NU head coach Mari Aberasturi was all praise for his last line of defense following the match.
““This game we were lucky because FEU was really controlling the game. They had plenty of chances at goal while we had two, three pero good game.” Aberasturi said. “Perocho had a great game. Four times na point blank saves yung na-save niya. For me man of the match si Perocho,”
With the important win, NU improves to 16 points off five wins, one draw, and nine losses, tied with De La Salle University at the four-seed.
FEU drops to two wins, three draws, and six losses for nine points.
