UAAP VOLLEYBALL: Adamson out to claim last semis berth
Adamson University sets its eyes on finalizing its entry into the Final Four.

Adamson University shoots for the last Final Four ticket Saturday against a University of Sto. Tomas side looking to force a playoff in the 80th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the Blue Eagle gym inside Ateneo de Manila University campus.

Game time is at 8:00 a.m. and will air live on LIGA on SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD on SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.

The Falcons are perched at solo fourth spot with a 6-7 win-loss record behind semifinals bound National University, three-time defending champion Ateneo de Manila University and Far Eastern University, who all carry identical 11-2 slates.

A win by Adamson will close the semis berth race but a victory by the Tigers will force a playoff for the last Final Four seat.

UST is tied with idle De La Salle University with five wins in 13 games.

In case the Tigers pull off a win and the Green Spikers hurdle the Tamaraws on Sunday there will be a three-way tie at 6-8. In this scenario, the two teams with the lowest earned match points will figure in a do-or-die match where the winner will face the team with the superior match points in another playoff for the semis No. 4 seed.

Closing their campaign at 10:00 a.m. are also-ran teams University of the Philippines (3-10) and University of the East (0-13).
