La Salle improves to 2-0 in the 2018 Asia Pacific University Basketball Challenge with a comeback win over Chinese Taipei.
The De La Salle Green Archers take a 94-90 victory against Chinese Taipei at the 2018 Asia Pacific University Basketball Challenge in South Korea Monday afternoon.
La Salle used a big run down the stretch to steal the game away from our neighbors in the north.
Down 86-82 with 3:24 left, DLSU ventured on a 12-4 run to seal the victory, following some clutch plays on both ends of the floor from Kib Montalbo, Justine Baltazar, and Taane Samuel.
The three hit some clutch baskets in their comeback win, with Montalbo getting the three-point play twice in the run, scoring 13 of his 16 in the fourth.
It was Samuel who ultimately gave La Salle the lead with the put-back, 87-86, with 2:21 left while Baltazar put a cushion on the advantage with an elbow jumper for a three-point lead, 89-86, 1:42 left.
A see-saw affair, DLSU trailed by ten at the half, 41-51.
The Taft-based squad then came alive in the third to eventually knot things up at 67 at the conclusion of the third period.
