Ilang months na rin akong nagre-recover so ta-try kong bumalik ng Season 81 -- EJ Laure
University of Sto. Tomas’ EJ Laure hopes to get back in shape in time to be able to suit up once again for the Tigresses come UAAP Season 81.
After almost seven months since her last public appearance, Laure broke a long silence and talked about the progress of her recovery from a right shoulder injury she sustained late 2017 while playing for Foton in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix.
“Ilang months na rin akong nagre-recover so ta-try kong bumalik ng Season 81,” said Laure Saturday when she watched UST’s semifinals match against Far Eastern University in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Her injury forced Laure to skip UST’s campaign in the UAAP. Rumors and speculations also circulated on the real reason why Laure needed to drop out of that season’s lineup.
Laure long denied all the rumors including her alleged pregnancy.
But the Season 77 rookie of the year is optimistic she’ll be able to see action once again.
“Nag-strengthening pa lang ako and doing rehab kasi kailangan ko muna ng strengthening kasi parang mahirap na bumalik agad-agad ng walang clearance ng doctor,” said Laure.
With her possible return, UST fans and supporters now have another good reason to smile with EJ playing alongside her sister Eya, who has been playing consistently at a high level for the Tigresses.
“Siyempre silang lahat parang lahat ng nagsasabi sa akin na gusto na kaming makita back on court na magkasama so parang mas namo-motivate pa ko na bilisan yung pagre-recover ko,” said Laure.
