You can all forget the thought of Ateneo sweeping UAAP Season 81.

You can all thank Jerrick Ahanmisi and his Adamson Falcons for that.

It took exactly one game for the Blue Eagles sweep predictions to go down in flames as the gutsy Falcons soared to a sensational 74-70 opening-weekend win Sunday.

Ahanmisi led the charge, firing 23 points for the game including a ridiculous halfcourt swish at halftime that helped sway the game for Adamson.

The statement win was a product of tedious preparation by the Falcons against the defending champion Eagles.

"The coaches have been preparing us a lot for this game," Ahamisi said.

"We started scouting them like months ago. I'm glad we came out with the win," he added.

Still, this statement win means nothing if Adamson can't follow it up.

The Falcons are well aware of that.

"This is the best Ateneo team I've ever seen, in terms of depth they are 3-4 players deep," head coach Franz Pumaren on the Blue Eagles.

"It's so hard to beat Ateneo I'll tell you. Imagine first game ganito na ka-stressful. But we still have to prove ourselves, winning one game over Ateneo does not make us a championship team," he added.
