Thanks to three players from National University, the Philippines is now the inaugural champion of the Under-18 Mixed 3x3 tournament of the International Basketball Federation (IBF) Youth Leadership Cup.
The NU-backed Philippine team bested all of Singapore, Papua New Guinea, and Qatar en route to the championship.
The Filipinos were represented by Lady Bulldog Noemie Ayenga, Bullpups Dom Dayrit and Kevin Quiambao, and Bacolod talent Kent Jane Pastrana in the tournament that ran from Friday to Sunday in Bali, Indonesia.
The IBF Youth Leadership is a program using basketball as a tool to, as per FIBA, as a tool to help to improve communities with engagement, participation, and inclusivity.
The U18 Mixed 3x3 tournament will be the culmination of the program.
