UE knows full well that it couldn't be the Alvin Pasaol show for it to win
Alvin Pasaol tried to do it all for University of the East on Wednesday.
The third-year forward scored 36 points while also hauling in 11 rebounds.
He was the only Red Warrior to score more than 10 points, to attempt more than six shots, and to make good on more than four field goals.
All of that was all for naught as they still fell to Adamson University and suffered their second straight setback.
That is exactly why Pasaol wants and needs much more from his teammates. “Kailangan, more aggressive din sila. Give and take dapat sa lahat ng bagay so kailangan din naming i-push sila,” he said.
For the 23-year-old, it all starts with what should be a burning desire to compete. As he put it, “’Di matuturo yung heart e. Kailangan, inspired basketball, kailangan, puso. Hindi pwedeng pagpunta mo ng court, wala kang gagawin.”
He then continued, “We can’t teach heart. Yung desire na manalo, yung desire dumepensa, yung eagerness maglaro, yun ang kulang e.”
That challenge goes out for all of UE – as only total team effort could lead them to victory. “Wala akong pinipili. Para sa aming lahat, kailangan namin yung A-game namin,” he remarked.
He then continued, “Nandito na yung opportunity namin e. Sayang e kaya kailangan lang naming magsipag.”
