Koko Pingoy vows to do better in all aspects - before, during, and even after the game

Adamson University is off to its best start since 2003 and that is even though court general Koko Pingoy is not yet 100 percent.

As it turns out, the second-year Soaring Falcon is still nursing injuries to his left foot – one that has been limiting him since the start of the year and a more recent one that has been giving him problems just now. “Yung plantar (fasciitis), yun yung injury ko ngayon tapos may bone spur na tumubo na naman,” he told reporters while showing some swelling.

He then continued, “Masakit talaga sobra.”

However, the injury was not why Pingoy sat out Adamson’s triumph over University of the East on Wednesday.

According to head coach Franz Pumaren, his point guard was serving a disciplinary action. “He was late for the game so he just gotta sit at the bench,” he said in the post-win interview.

For his part, the 23-year-old admitted that he made a mistake. “Na-late din ako e kasi umuwi pa ako sa bahay. Nakausap ko naman si coach and okay naman sa kanya,” he said.

That is exactly why Pingoy promised to do better in all aspects – before, during, and even after the game – the next time around. “Lalaro pa rin ako next game. Babawi na lang ako next game,” he shared.
