UAAP: Juan GDL had the highlight, but Ken Tuffin had the last laugh

Juan GDL wasn't grinning like this after Ken Tuffin and FEU routed UP
Early in the matchup between the University of the Philippines and Far Eastern University, Juan Gomez de Liano found himself at the wrong end of a 2-on-1 fastbreak.
Jasper Parker was speeding up the court with Kenneth Tuffin at the wings and the former set up the latter for the finish.
Only, Juan GDL knew exactly what was coming. “I saw him on the break. Before he got the ball, I was already smiling. I was already like, yeah, this will be a block,” he said.
He then continued, “My mentality was he’s gonna take off and lay it in so I just took off also and blocked it.”
That’s just exactly what happened and the UP second-year stud got the highlight off of the FEU veteran.
Asked what Tuffin told him right after, Juan GDL answered, “He just laughed and said, ‘You got me.’”
However, after the block, Tamaraw center Prince Orizu got the offensive rebound and wasted no time putting the ball through the net.
That capped off an 8-0 start for them which eventually ended as an 89-73 win.
And so, in the end, the real highlight over Juan GDL belonged to Tuffin.
That means that Tuffin owns the bragging rights over Juan GDL until the second round. The latter could only state as much in saying, “Kami ni Kenneth, we’ve been close since Gilas cadets and because we live near each other.”
He then continued, “(The highlight block) was fun, but all in all, they killed us.”
Chalk another one up for an FEU player getting one over his good friend from UP.
