Alvin Pasaol made up his sorry performance from three by making all eight of his attempts inside.
UE star forward Alvin Pasaol confessed that he should have been more involved in the game in the UE Red Warriors' blowout loss against the Ateneo Blue Eagles at the Filoil Flying V Centre Wednesday afternoon.
The high-scoring forward, who averaged 24.0 points before this game scored just 17 points.
Pasaol was held scoreless from beyond the arc and had no assists, but was very efficient inside, going eight-for-eight on field goals and added eight rebounds.
"Parang kulang ang performance ko kanina sa game ng Ateneo. Kailangan ko pang umiskor, dumistribute sa kanila," the fifth-year player said.
Pasaol also praised his opponent's defense, and scouting, saying that they would not be the defending champions for nothing.
The team actually went toe-to-toe with the defending champs, but ultimately Ateneo showed their mettle and zoomed to a 24-point lead, 68-44, by the end of the third quarter.
"Dapat nag-stay kami pero mas lumobo nang lumobo ang lamang nila pero hindi na kami nakabawi."
Two games after trying to light a fire on their opponents' bellies, Pasaol noted his teammates' improvement since, and pointed out the great system new coach Joe Silva is trying to implement on his first collegiate team.
As they face the FEU Tamaraws next, Pasaol hopes that the team could find themselves and get the win.
"Magpe-prepare kami para sa FEU. Ayun sila, Final Four-caliber rin sila, siguro, yung hope na makakuha kami ng panalo sa kanila."
