UAAP 81 By the Numbers: Soaring to new heights
After a week's worth of action, the birds continue to fly high with Adamson and Ateneo leading all teams.

The UAAP Season 81 men's basketball tournament is starting to take shape.

After a week's worth of action, the birds continue to fly high with Adamson and Ateneo leading all teams.

The rest of the field is as wide open as ever, which should make for an interesting couple of weeks as the first round winds down.

Before another set of action though, a quick By the Numbers look for the games last week.

1

Number of wins for the UE Red Warriors when star scorer Alvin Pasaol comes of the bench,

UE demolished FEU this past weekend to score its first win this season and Pasaol was a reserve for the first time since 2016. Pasaol previously came off the bench eight times already.

The Red Warriors were 0-8 in those games.

+39

Alvin Pasaol's final plus/minus in the UE win over FEU, the best mark so far this season.

Pasaol also recorded five steals, showing his defensive prowess. The five takeaways is also the highest so far this season, a record he shares with Ateneo's Raffy Verano.

12

Total assists for UE's Philip Manalang in the win over the Tamaraws.

Manalang's 12 dimes is the most in the UAAP in five years, since Terrence Romeo also dished out 12 assists in an FEU win over UE.

32

Final margin of victory for Ateneo against UST. It's the most lopsided game so far this season.

It's also the most lopsided loss in coach Aldin Ayo's UAAP career. The previous high was 12 points, also against the Blue Eagles.

5

Number of wins by Ateneo head coach Tab Baldwin against Aldin Ayo.

Baldwin is the only UAAP coach not to have a losing record against Ayo. Their head-to-head showdown is currently tied at five wins each.

1

Number of game-winners for Adamson's Sean Manganti against UP this season.

Manganti continues to haunt the Fighting Maroons. Last week, the Adamson forward hit a floater off a broken play as the Falcon beat UP to extend their undefeated streak to four games in UAAP Season 81.
