Sisi Rondina is well on her way to a splendid UAAP Beach Volleyball exit she has always hoped for.
The University of Santo Tomas' Sisi Rondina and Blove Barbon made sure to make the most out of their day as they won both of their games before Typhoon Queenie forced a cancellation of the remaining matches in Day 4 of UAAP Season 81 Beach Volleyball at the Sands SM by the Bay.
In the morning, the Sand Tigresses dominated the rookies of National University Kly Orillaneda and Antonette Landicho in straight sets 21-12, 21-7. The loss handed by UST put a blemish on NU's initially perfect record.
In the afternoon, Adamson University's Hannah Infante and Gracel Ave were UST's latest victims, 21-7, 21-11.
Aside from winning all of their six games, the super senior and rookie duo of Espana have yet to drop a single set in the tournament. To top it all off, a win versus Far Eastern University's Sheena Gallentes and Ivana Agudo on Friday will send UST straight to the Finals.
"Iniisip lang namin kung ano 'yung goal namin; manalo o matalo man basta we did our best, that's what matters eh. Hindi na namin iniisip 'yung resulta masyado," said the veteran Rondina.
She also described how their partnership has been improving as the tournament went on.
"Pareho din kasi kaming Bisaya kaya nagkakaintindihan and walang mahirap sa communication namin. Mabilis talaga siya sa buhangin. Wala akong problema talaga sa kanya," Rondina added.
With how UST has been moving so far, Rondina is well on her way to a splendid UAAP Beach Volleyball exit she has always been working hard for.
"Kung manalo man, ang iniisip ko is 'yung pag-exit ko din talaga. Kung gusto namin na maganda 'yung exit namin, start here na kami," she disclosed.
