UST Growling Tigers center Steve Akomo is currently confined at the UST Hospital in Manila as he recovers from head trauma and a blood clot in his brain.

According to his doctor, the Cameroonian big man has been under observation for a week with medication.

Akomo has missed the Growling Tigers' last two games games against La Salle and UE.

In the game against the Green Archers, UST mentor Aldin Ayo said the second-year foreign student-athlete was out due to food poisoning.

Akomo has been averaging 9.8 points and 9.5 rebounds in four appearances this season.

His confinement at the UST Hospital has also been confirmed by The Varsitarian, the school's official paper.

The family and friends of Steve Akomo are requesting for prayers and support.
