Germy Mahinay is stepping up big-time in the absence of ailing Steve Akomo
Germy Mahinay got an earful from head coach Aldin Ayo in the middle of the game a week ago.
Fast forward to Saturday and up against Far Eastern University’s formidable frontline, Germy Mahinay did nothing but follow the instructions of his head coach. “Si Germy, he may be the biggest, but he’s also one of the youngest players.
In turn, that led to a breakout performance of 10 points and eight rebounds for Mahinay – all while teaming up with Enric Caunan to slow down Cameroonian powerhouse Prince Orizu to just eight markers and 12 boards.
For his part, the recruit out of San Beda High School gave back credit to his mentor.
