UAAP: With a career game, it didn't look like Encho Serrano had fever

Encho Serrano had fever on his way to his best game in the UAAP Seniors
Encho Serrano’s career-highs in scoring were both recorded up against University of the East.
In the first round, Serrano scored 11 points on top of four rebounds to help De La Salle University blow out the Red Warriors.
And in the two teams’ second round meeting on Wednesday, he again erupted for 18 points to go along with six rebounds, two assists, and two steals in another convincing victory for the Green Archers.
Through it all, Serrano imposed his will all over the court – which was very reminiscent of how he played as the one-time top high school player in all of the Philippines.
While that is no longer surprising to anybody who has followed his young career, what is surprising is that he did so while sick. “Actually, may lagnat ako ngayon e,” he told reporters who indeed, heard something different with his voice.
Apparently, the first-year player has not been feeling well since a day ago and in fact, was in the hospital just this morning.
And yet, Serrano decided to play and then proceeded to record a career-high in scoring. “Sabi ko, maglalaro ako kasi sabi ko, kaya ko naman,” he said.
Without a doubt, even a fever could not put down Serrano.
And for him, this is only yet another step forward for his development. “Ako, gusto ko lang talag amakalaro para makuha ko yung kumpyansa ko. Sana, magtuloy-tuloy na,” he said.
