Juan GDL is averaging a triple-double in two games off the bench
Juan Gomez de Liano is averaging a triple-double in the last two games.
In the University of the Philippines’ past pair of outings, he has normed 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 10.5 assists.
Juan GDL tallied a triple-double of 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists last Sunday and after three days, stuffed the stat sheet anew with 19 markers, 10 boards, and nine dimes.
While he just fell short of back-to-back triple-doubles, the second-year star said the only number that matters to him is the one on the win column. Asked about being one assist shy, he answered, “I don’t mind it talaga. We got the W and that’s what matters to me.”
Indeed, the two wins in a row have thrust the Fighting Maroons right back in the thick of things – now tied for fourth at 5-5.
What makes Juan GDL’s numbers even more impressive, though, is he has gotten them all off the bench.
Yes, he has averaged a triple-double even though he didn’t start the last two games.
Just like he said three days ago, however, he is just doing his job.
“As soon as coach puts me in, I always play 100 percent and go all-out. Whether off the bench or I start, positive energy lang,” he said.
