Behind the stellar performance of Clare Castro, Far Eastern University improved to a 7-3 slate after defeating De La Salle University, 77-62, Saturday at the Filoil Flying V Centre in the UAAP Season 81 women's basketball tournament.

Castro just fell one point and one rebound away from a 40-20 showing. Regardless, her 39 points, 19 rebounds and three blocks were more than enough to dominate slumping La Salle, which fell to a 5-5 record.

The Lady Tamaraws' defense limited the Lady Archers to a dismal 33-percent shooting.

Marie Arciga paced La Salle with 18 points and three rebounds while Ana Castillo chipped in 14 points and three rebounds.

La Salle will face University of the Philippines next on November 3, 1 0AM at the Ynares Center while FEU will take on University of the East a day after, 8 AM at the same venue.

Meanwhile in the earlier match, Jollina Go stepped up for the Ateneo de Manila University with 21 points, five rebounds, and two assists to lift the Lady Eagles past UE at, 69-63. Ateneo improved to 4-6 while UE fell to a dismal 2-8 record.

On the other hand, the Adamson University handed the UP Lady Maroons' its 28th-straight loss in another rout, 69-43. Mariz Cacho of the Lady Falcons poured 24 points and seven rebounds while Nathalie Prado added nine points and 11 rebounds.
