La Salle will have to wait longer for Taane Samuel's services as he undergo surgey for Jones fracture.
De La Salle University rookie Taane Samuel will continue to miss action as he is set to undergo surgery for incurring a Jones fracture on his left foot.
"He’ll undergo yung surgery niya this week," said La Salle head coach Louie Gonzalez whose 13-man team is now down to 12.
"These guys we just have to do it. Kailangan trabahuin lang namin baka sa dulo, aabot na siya," he added.
A jones fracture is a break between the base and middle part of the fifth metatarsal of the foot. It induces pain in the middle portion of the affected foot.
Samuel, or T to his teammates, was not in uniform during La Salle's match against National University, Wednesday evening. Regardless, the Green Archers did enough to hold the fort as they notch their first win in UAAP Season 81.
The 19-year-old Kiwi was expected to bolster the frontline of the Green Archers with Balti Baltazar, Brandon Bates, and Mark Dyke. However, with the injury, they will have to wait much longer for the 6-foot-8 bigman's services.
"Siguro second week of November he’s back," added Gonzalez.
