National University punched the first UAAP Season 81 boys volleyball tournament Finals seat.
National University advanced to the best-of-three championship series but will have to wait for its opponent after University of Sto. Tomas forced a winner-take-all semis showdown against Far Eastern University Saturday in the UAAP Season 81 boys volleyball tournament.
The top seed Bullpups cruised into the Finals after rolling past Adamson University, 25-17, 25-15, 25-11, in their Final Four pairing at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Mac Arvin Bandola and Michael Fortuna teamed up on offense to submit the Baby Falcons in just 61 minutes of action. Bandola wreaked havoc at the net after scoring eight kill blocks in his 15-point production while Fortuna got nine kills, two kill blocks and an ace for NU.
Pol Salvador posted eight of his nine markers off attacks while adding 12 digs for the Bullpups.
Meanwhile, defending champion UST lived to fight another day with a 25-15, 25-20, 25-15 win over twice-to-beat FEU.
Skipper Jhun Senoron displayed his scoring prowess with 20 points off 12 kills, seven aces and a kill block for 20 points for the Tigercubs.
Jaycon Adeva and Rey De Vega added 12 and 10 markers, respectively, for UST, which landed 13 aces.
The do-or-die match for the last championship seat is on Wednesday.
