Adamson's Sean Manganti takes home the biggest amount of cash prizes from special awards in UAAP 81
Sean Manganti’s collegiate career wound up with a whimper as Adamson University fell to the University of the Philippines in the Final Four of the UAAP 81 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Still, that does not discount the great season Manganti had in his last season as a Soaring Falcon.
San Marcelino’s skipper averaged 14.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.3 steals.
Those numbers fell short of thrusting him into the Mythical Team, but more than enough for him to be recognized for two special awards.
Manganti won the Appeton Most Improved Player Award as well as the PsBankable Player of the Season Award that grant him a total cash prize of PhP 150, 000.
With or without awards, the Filipino-American forward said he just hopes to be remembered as a player who left it all on the court for Adamson. “I’m gonna go hard every day. In practice or in game, I will give it all,” he said.
He then continued, “I want to be remembered as somebody who put their life for Adamson. I want to be remembered as one of the best to wear that jersey.”
Also winning a couple of awards is the University of the Philippines Juan Gomez de Liano who was hailed as the Manulife Playmaker of the Season and the Milo Nutri-Up Up Your Galing awardee. He takes home PhP 50, 000 as well as PhP 50,000 worth of Sodexo gift certificates.
