The Philippines continued its solid showing in the 19th ASEAN University Games volleyball tournament, as the Filipinos, represented by reigning UAAP men's champion National University, topped Indonesia, 25-14, 25-23, 25-13, to make it to the gold medal round Thursday in Naypyitaw, Myanmar.

Except for a close second set, the Philippines was dominant in the semifinals match to extend its undefeated run to three games and assure itself of a podium finish.

The Filipinos surpassed the bronze medal achievement it got in the biennial meet for the student-athletes in the region two years ago in Singapore.

Up next for the Philippines is a rematch with defending champion Thailand, which fashioned out a 25-19, 25-20, 25-17 victory over Myanmar in the other semis duel, on Friday.

The Filipinos pulled off a shocking 30-28, 25-23, 25-19 win over the Thais in last Sunday's opener.

Thailand is also 2-1 in the tournament.
