Ateneo and NU meet again for the first time after the former bested the latter for the championship last season

Games on Saturday at the Blue Eagle Gym

9:00 AM – Adamson vs DLSZ

11:00 AM – UPIS vs UE

1:00 PM – UST vs FEU-Diliman

3:00 PM – Ateneo vs NU

At long last, the most anticipated matchup in the UAAP 81 Juniors Basketball Tournament is upon us.

Defending champion Ateneo de Manila High School and last year’s runner-up Nazareth School of National University will finally wage war this season at the middle of the Blue Eagle Gym in Quezon City on Saturday.

The top spot it up for grabs in the duel between the Blue Eaglets and the Bullpups, both at 5-1, beginning at 3:00 PM.

Last season, Ateneo topped NU is a competitive three-game Finals.

Now, Kai Sotto will once more try to lift the Blue Eaglets over the Bullpups who will once more lean on the backcourt duo of Gerry Abadiano and Terrence Fortea.

Meanwhile, a slot right behind whoever seizes the top spot is for the taking for Adamson High School and Far Eastern University-Diliman up against separate foes.

The Baby Falcons (4-2) are out to build on their big-time takedown of NU this time opposite daring De La Salle Zobel (3-3) at 9:00 AM while the Baby Tamaraws (4-2) are out to keep charging at the expense of dangerous University of Sto. Tomas (3-3) at 11:00 AM.

There will also be a crucial contest between winless teams University of the Philippines Integrated School and University of the East at 11:00 AM.
