UAAP Season 81: Tams, Lady Maroons dispute hold of lead
University of the Philippines crosses paths with Far Eastern University with its eyes focused on winning its second straight game.

Opening day winners Far Eastern University and University of the Philippine lock horns on Wednesday to keep a hold of the early lead in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The two teams march into battle at 4:00 p.m. in a match that will air on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.

Rookie Lycha Ebon announced her arrival last Saturday by dropping a team-high 13 points in the Lady Tamaraws’ 22-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-12, victory over National University.

Aside from Ebon, expected to deliver the same performance for FEU are veterans Heather Guino-o, Celine Domingo, Jerrili Malabanan and setter Kyle Negrito.

Meanwhile, the Lady Maroons survived an upset scare Saturday after staving off University of the East, 25-12, 22-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-12, to open their campaign.

Isa Molde, who dropped 23 points against the Lady Maroons, and Tots Carlos will lead the charge for UP backed by other veterans Justine Dorog, setter Ayel Estranero and Marist Layug.
