Adamson ends losing slump in new coach Getigan’s debut
Bernadette Flora sparkled in Adamson University's first win under new head coach Onyok Getigan.

Adamson University gave new coach Onyok Getigan a fitting welcome Sunday as the Lady Falcons barged in the win column after a 25-15, 25-19, 25-22, drubbing of National University in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament at the Big Dome.

Bernadette Flora waxed-hot to show the way for the Lady Falcons, who replaced Air Padda after two and a half seasons, for their first win after four tries. Flora had 15 points anchored on 13 kills and a pair of kill blocks.

Skipper Eli Soyud  had 12 points with eight coming off attacks and four from kill blocks while Joy Dacoron got 10 markers including the game-clinching running kill for the Lady Falcons.

Adamson U broke free from a tight 20-19 lead in the closing stretch of the third frame with three straight points. Audrey Paran stopped  NU's bleeding.

Adamson setter MJ Igao committed an error in the next play before Dacoron pushed the Lady Falcons at match point. Lady Bulldogs rookie Princess Robles saved a match point before Dacoron's runner.

NU absorbed its second straight defeat to slide down to 1-3 slate tied with the Lady Falcons and University of the East.

Robles had 12 points with seven excellent receptions and five digs while Paran, Ivy Lacsina and Gelina Luceno all posted seven markers each for the Lady Bulldogs, who thew away 27 points off errors.
