Bryan Bagunas dropped 24 points in National University's straight sets win over Adamson University.
Bryan Bagunas continued with his scoring romp as defending champion National University handed Adamson University its first loss, 25-22, 25-18, 25-16, Sunday in the UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the Big Dome.
The graduating hitter displayed his scoring prowess with 24 points off 19 attacks and five kill blocks for the streaking Bulldogs, who joined their victim at second spot with 3-1 win-loss slate. Bagunas averaged 22 points per game in NU’s previous three outings.
James Natividad and Angelo Almendras posted 11 and nine markers, respectively, for the Bulldogs’ third straight win.
NU peppered the Falcons with 40 points off attacks and played a solid game at the net to score 13 kill blocks.
Adamson saw its three-game winning streak snapped.
George Labang was the only Falcon in double figures with 11 points while skipper Paolo Pablico, who averaged 18.6 points per game in their previous outings, was silenced to only five markers for the Falcons.
