UAAP 81 Football: UP gunning for third straight victory
Defending champions UP and DLSU meet in a rematch of last season's semifinals

9:00 AM - DLSU vs. UP (Men)

1:00 PM - FEU vs. NU (Men)

3:00 PM - UST vs. Ateneo (Men)

Defending champions University of the Philippines go for their third straight win when they take on De La Salle University in the UAAP Season 81 Men's Football Tournament, Thursday morning at the FEU Diliman Football Field in Quezon City.

After taking down Katipunan-rivals Ateneo de Manila last Sunday, the Fighting Maroons shift their focus on a DLSU squad who has been up-and-down this season. The Fighting Maroons don't look like they've lost a step, as they continue to show why they're the defending champions in this rematch of last season's semifinals.

The Green Archers meanwhile, have split their first four matches to boast a two-win and two-loss record. The rookie-heavy Taft squad will try to string together their first winning streak of the season at the expense of the reigning titleholders.

UP and DLSU kick off at 9:00 AM.

In another Season 80 Final Four rematch, University of Sto. Tomas meets Ateneo de Manila University.

After a strong opening day performance, the Growling Tigers have slowed down a bit, but are still very much in striking range of the top spot in the standings, and a win over Ateneo will do just that.

Currently at the bottom of the standings, the Blue Eagles have struggled early in the season, with only one draw in their first three matches. They try to capture their first win of the season against a tough UST side.

UST and Ateneo meet at 3:00 PM.

Also looking to collect their second win of the season is Far Eastern University, who meets National University in the first afternoon match.

Much like UST, FEU started strong but has since slowed down, with their last two results ending in draws. They will aim for win number two against the struggling Bulldogs.

NU on the other hand, are looking for their first three points of the season after coming up close on multiple occassions. NU has blown the lead in three of their first four performances, and hope to finally get a W this season.

FEU and NU battle at 1:00 PM.
