UAAP Season 81: DLSU out to snap rare two-game skid
Three-time defending champion De La Salle University searches for a bounce back win against University of the East.

Down in unfamiliar territory, three-time defending champion De La Salle University tries to break a rare losing skid when the Lady Spikers battle University of the East on Saturday in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

After a great start that saw DLSU take a hold of the solo lead early, the Lady Spikers went on a two-game losing slump – the team’s first back-to-back defeats since the Season 77 Finals and first elims skid since forfeiting 11 straight games in Season 70.

The Taft-based squad now hopes for a mighty bounce back at 2:00 p.m. to regain its confidence and move back on the winning track. The game will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.

DLSU dropped a five-set match against University of the Philippines before absorbing a straight sets beating at the hands of Milena Alessandrini-less University of Sto. Tomas last Wednesday.

The Lady Spikers and Tigresses are tied with 3-2 win-loss slates.

Meanwhile, the Lady Warriors are in a three-way tie with 1-3 card with Adamson University and National University.

UE hopes that its close five-set loss to favored Far Eastern University in its last outing will give the Lady Warriors the needed push to score an upset.
