Jarvey Gayoso scored and assisted twice to help lead the Ateneo Blue Eagles to a 4-0 win over Adamson University.
Ateneo de Manila University scores their second straight win after overwhelming Adamson University, 4-0, Sunday afternoon at the FEU Diliman Football Field in Quezon City.
The action was tight for most of the first half with neither side giving anything up, until Ateneo finally got on the board courtesy of a goal from Jarvey Gayoso just before halftime.
It was all Ateneo in the second half, as Mark Nacional doubled the Ateneo lead in the 67th minute off an assist from Gayoso.
Nacional found the back of the net once more in the 80th minute to complete the brace, before Luka Alleje added the finishing touches, scoring his second goal of the season off another Jarvey Gayoso assist in the 86th minute.
The Soaring Falcons simply had no answer for the Blue Eagles, who appear to have finally turned the corner after a tough start to the season.
"I'm so happy sa result na 'to, kasi most important is the second three points, that's the most important for us, and I'm so happy that the players played well, event if the first half was medyo on and off, but of course in the last 45 minutes, they dominated the ball possession," said Ateneo head coach Jaypee Merida. "May mga moment lang na Adamson, maganda talaga yung defending ng Adamson kaya na-stop nila yung mga frontline players. The good thing there is yung players hindi talaga nag-step down, they pushed themselves to create more chances, and that's what happened in the second half, we scored three more goals."
With the win, the Blue Eagles improve to seven points off two wins, one loss, and two draws.
Adamson meanwhile, remains at three points with three draws and two losses.
