UAAP Season 81: UST, Adamson seek bounce back wins

University of Sto. Tomas tries to rediscover its winning ways and end the first round on a positive note.
University of Sto. Tomas and Adamson University try to get back on the winning track against their respective rivals Sunday at the end of the first round of the UAAP Season 81 men’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The Tigers and Falcons share fourth to fifth spot in the standings with even 3-3 win-loss records behind perfect Far Eastern University (7-0), defending champion National University (6-1) and Ateneo de Manila University (4-3).
UST will march into battle at 8:00 a.m. against University of the East to be followed by Adamson’s clash with winless University of the Philippines at 10:00 a.m. Both matches will air live on ABS-CBN LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.
The Tigers are coming off a straight sets loss to the Bulldogs while the Red Warriors are on a five-game slide after opening their campaign with a four-set win over the Fighting Maroons.
Adamson started out hot with three straight victories only to fizzle out with three-game losing slump. The Falcons bowed down to the Blue Eagles Wednesday.
Meanwhile, UP remains winless after six tries.
