DLSU will look to gain a measure of revenge against UST
MATCHES on SUNDAY, MARCH 24 (FEU Diliman)
9:00 AM - UP vs. UE (Men's)
1:30 PM - Adamson vs. NU (Men's)
3:30 PM - UST vs. DLSU (Men's)
De La Salle University will try to grab a share of the top of the standings when they face University of Santo Tomas in the first matchday of the second round of the UAAP Season 81 Men's Football tournament, Sunday at the FEU Diliman Football Field in Quezon City.
Fresh off a 2-1 victory over rivals Ateneo de Manila last Thursday to close out the first round, the Green Archers now take aim at the top spot. A second consecutive win will put DLSU at 15 points, tied with league-leading Far Eastern University.
DLSU will also look for a measure of revenge after losing to the Growling Tigers in the first round.
Last season's runners-up UST are coming off a long layoff after having finished their first round assignments ahead of everyone else. Currently sitting at fourth place with 10 points, the Growling Tigers will try to climb higher in the standings with a win.
DLSU and UST battle at 3:30 PM
A pair of teams that are looking to bounce back will share the pitch once again, when defending champions University of the Philippines faces off against University of the East.
Their first round matchup was easily one of the most exciting matches of the season, with UP pulling off a comeback victory off a last-minute goal from King Miyagi.
Currently down at the bottom half of the standings, the Fighting Maroons will be hoping for a similar result as they try to push back into title contention.
UE on the other hand will try to get that win back as they also try to make a push for a playoff spot that has long eluded them.
UP and UE meet at 9:00 am.
After finally notching their first win of the season against a struggling UP side last Thursday, the much-improved Adamson Falcons try to make it two in a row when they face the National University Bulldogs.
Currently enjoying their best season since returning to the UAAP Men's Football Tournament with seven points, the Soaring Falcons are far from satisfied as they look to add even more wins and also push for a spot in the postseason.
The beneficiaries of an overturned decision, the Bulldogs find themselves back in the hunt for a postseason berth with eight points. A win to kick off the second round vaults them to the upper half of the standings.
Adamson and NU battled to a draw in their first round matchup. They run it back in the second round at 1:30 PM.
1:30 and 3:30 matches will be live on Liga, Liga HD, via livestream and on the iWant app!
